4C for healthcare supply chains
Start: November 2011
Period: +/- 2 year
‘Care for Logistics’ is the tantalizing title of the first Dinalog project in health care.
The expected result is a strategic logistic control centre that will integrate supply chains in
the care sector from fresh food to office and medical equipments. The potential of such a control centre is enormous and could result in a major cut back in cost.
The research will focus on investigating and solving problems that arise while integrating several care supply chains. In addition to developing a control centre the partners will develop a new distribution centre where the concept of cross docking will be implemented. Furthermore, the partners will implement and develop the necessary tools for their administrative-and logistic processes. The objective is to save costs in logistics for institutions in the care sector and increase the logistic volumes of the suppliers, due to the control centre.
The four partners in ‘Zorg voor Logistiek are: Huuskes Versproducten, T-Blox B.V., Stichting Lucrum and Twente University. They are supported by Lyreco Nederland B.V., Scholten Medische Instrumenten B.V., Stichting Sensire and Stichting Keuken de Boeskool.
