UIC GRFC: shaping together the business of the future

On 22, 23 and 24 June 2016, the International Union of Railways (UIC) organizes the Global Rail Freight Conference in Rotterdam. The 5th anniversary of this event will be organized under the Patronage of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment and will run Back-to-Back with the TEN-T Days and the European Rail Freight Corridor event.

The Global Rail Freight Conference (GRFC) is one of the leading events in the international rail freight calendar and will bring together top executives and decision makers, rail and logistics professionals, customers, influential politicians and institutions from across the globe. The 5th edition of this event will take place in Rotterdam and will be a unique opportunity to exchange on rail logistics of the future looking at new business models, developing the skills of workforces and integrating new technologies and innovations.

The 2016 edition will be organized in co-operation with the TEN-T Days 2016 of the European Commission and the European Rail Freight Corridor event organized by the Dutch Presidency of the European Union. The GRFC will offer a natural continuation to the discussions on European corridors and multimodality and move to a global context where innovation and digitalization are at the heart of the success of rail freight.

The Global Rail Freight conference on 22, 23 and 24 June 2016 will focus on transcontinental corridors as well as on innovation and its impact on the rail freight industry business models and its work force.

The UIC Global Rail Freight Conference provides a platform for all stakeholders involved in Transport and Logistics across the world, such as representatives from railway companies, logistics companies, ports as well as forwarders, infrastructure managers, shippers, researchers, policy makers, students and young professionals.

The GRFC 2016 Exhibition will start on 20 June 2016 is scheduled parallel to the TEN-T Days 2016 and the European Rail Freight Corridor event 2016. All these events will take place at the same venue: The famous Van Nelle Factory, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We expect over 3.000 visitors to the exhibition.
