The main issue addressed by FTMAAS (Freight Traffic Management As A Service) is the integration of logistics and traffic information management. Both areas are rapidly digitizing, but operational links and connections are limited. The FTMAAS Living Lab's mission is to connect these two subsystems by developing, implementing and testing integration software conducive to both areas. The Living Lab focuses on the International Freight Corridor South (Rotterdam-Venlo) and manages three major ongoing cases and six sub-research projects. In particular, the research focuses on issues of value creation, analysis and optimization of both logistics and traffic management at the network level.
