In the Fashion and Lifestyle sector, goods are often sold to stores on pre-order. In that case, suppliers only have goods produced when the store orders are in hand. For a store, it is therefore quite a surprise what it will receive and when. The reason for these long delivery periods is that the supplier remains maximally flexible in order to be able to absorb problems in production, transport and logistics without violating agreements. In practice, it is therefore the "coincidental planning" that determines on which exact day within a delivery period the store is supplied. This project revolves around harmonizing delivery times, something that should be structurally implemented within the sector. This project also contributes to improving the competitive position of Dutch fashion suppliers and stores and leads to increasing logistics awareness in the sector. Another goal is to qualitatively improve the level of logistics in the fashion and lifestyle sector. In order to make delivery time harmonisation attractive for all stakeholders, additional services are being developed (electronic notification of delivery time, packaging waste returns for shops, buffer service in the process of logistics service providers, etc.). The design, testing and roll-out of these 'flanking' services is an important part of the project.
