PhD Valorisation Grant 2025: Saxion University of Applied Sciences and Radboud University researchers strengthen social impact through LEADER project

Netherlands Foundation For Psychotechnology (Nederlandse Stichting voor Psychotechniek) honours two PhD valorisation grants for greater social impact
TKI Dinalog is proud to announce that the PhD Valorisation Scholarship 2025, from the Dutch Foundation for Psychotechnology (NSvP), has been awarded to Amber Kornet (Saxion University of Applied Sciences) and Wouter van Zwol (Radboud University) for their joint project Beyond the Blind Spot, which is part of the LEADER research project. This project focuses on increasing the visibility and appreciation of practically trained professionals within Learning Communities.
This project focuses on the value of practically skilled professionals in Learning Communities. Wouter and Amber are developing a mini-documentary showing how professionals (such as mechanics and drivers) are indispensable for innovation, collaboration and knowledge sharing within organisations. The documentary will be developed together with practitioner participants and distributed via sector platforms, film festivals and social media, with the aim of increasing the impact and visibility of craftsmanship in the labour market. Co-funders in this project are Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Human Capital lectorate; Stephan Corporaal), Top Sector Energy Erwin Niedeveld), TKI Dinalog; Bas Van Bree).
TKI Dinalog is proud of the contribution of its researchers to these valuable initiatives and looks forward to the impact these projects will have on the labour market and society.
The other winner is Yoy Bergs (Breda University of Applied Sciences). Yoy Bergs' project focuses on the mental health of young workers. Her PhD research shows that young adults are under high pressure to combine different identities (work, private, online), which can lead to burnout complaints. The 'Mensje (N)ooitgenoeg' programme develops an identity-focused intervention, including an 'identity workbook' that helps young workers balance their different roles and use social media consciously. The aim is to promote sustainable careers and well-being.
Every two years, PhDs/PhDs in the final phase of their PhD trajectory are eligible for a PhD Valorisation Scholarship from the NSvP. The scholarship encourages near-promoters in the field of HRM and A&O psychology to give the outcomes of their research another push towards greater societal impact. What needs to be developed for that, which PhD time often no longer allows?
