PPP Innovation Scheme - 2024 - Call 1
This call is now closed.
The Top Consortium for Knowledge and Innovation in Logistics (TKI Dinalog for the Logistics Top Sector) aims to systematically stimulate and realise private-public cooperation in research within the Logistics Top Sector. The aim of the Top Consortium for Knowledge and Innovation in Logistics (TKI Dinalog for the Logistics Top Sector) is to systematically stimulate and realise private-public cooperation in research within the Logistics Top Sector.
The National Knowledge Agenda for Logistics, developed by TKI Dinalog in collaboration with various stakeholders from the knowledge institutions, companies and governments, serves as a guide for research programming within TKI Dinalog and collaborations with other sectors. It focuses on strategic and transdisciplinary cooperation projects between knowledge institutions, companies and governments to develop innovations for fundamental and sustainable system changes within the logistics sector and wider society. The agenda presents five challenges with general knowledge questions for both short-term renewal of logistics chains and longer-term system changes with logistics as enabler.
The five challenges are:
Circular economy
Energy transition and reducing harmful emissions
Population growth and disruption
Population growth and demographics
Social earning and broad prosperity.
In this call for research, we invite consortia of public and private entities to submit proposals for research projects focusing on one or more challenges as set out in the National Knowledge Agenda for Logistics. The listed challenges can partly be classified as 'wicked' problems: complex issues without clear and simple solutions, often characterised by multiple, sometimes conflicting perspectives and interests. Addressing these challenges requires a broad and transdisciplinary approach, as well as a deep understanding of the local and international (logistics) context. A thorough analysis of the problem context is necessary for an effective solution. The emphasis is not only on developing new technological applications, but rather on an integrated approach where technology development goes hand in hand with socio-economic issues related to implementation and policy. This requires cooperation between knowledge institutions, companies and governments from different disciplines and across the relevant chain. This call is open to all relevant application areas and sectors, including less traditional logistics application areas such as healthcare and the public sector.
For topics specific to construction logistics, we recommend submitting to the call Top Sector Logistics - Mobile Tools and Construction Logistics which follows in 2025.

The budget available for this first call from, among others, the PPS Innovation Scheme is up to €2,300,000. This can be two private companies or at least one private company and one public institution. Consortia in which several knowledge disciplines and/or universities and practice-oriented researchers (universities of applied sciences and/or TO2 institutions) work together are strongly encouraged.
Maximum TKI Dinalog allocation of TKI allowance:
Industrial (R&D) research: up to 50% of eligible costs, with a maximum of €500,000 (maximum project size €1,000,000 for a maximum of 3 years);
