TKI Dinalog Top-up call 2025
In recent years, a lot of research has been carried out with financial support from the Top Sector Logistics, both through TKI Dinalog and NWO, the Regieorgaan SIA and the Ministries of EZ and IenW. The research leads to inspiring and practical insights and useful knowledge that can be further developed. The knowledge and innovations must contribute to long-term renewal and fundamental system changes within the logistics sector and more broadly in society. In turn, new knowledge questions may follow from the research for practical application.
This call for proposals offers the opportunity to fund top-up projects: small collaborative projects (duration up to one year) for specific knowledge questions for further research, innovation and impact (increase of Technology Readiness Level, up to TRL 7). The purpose of the top-up project is to respond to the need for additional research based on new developments or questions or to stimulate the use of the knowledge developed in previous research, as long as there is a research component in the project. Ongoing or completed innovation projects that are in line with the Top Sector Logistics research programme can apply for top-up.
Project proposals should address one or more challenges as set out in the National Knowledge Agenda for Logistics.
Available budget
The maximum budget available for this top-up call is € 600,000,-*. Maximum grant to be awarded by TKI Dinalog per top-up project is € 100,000. The minimum application to grant per top-up project is €50,000:
Industrial (R&D) research: up to 50% TKI allowance of the eligible costs, with a maximum of €100,000 (minimum project size €200,000 for up to 1 year);
Experimental development: up to 25% TKI allowance of the eligible costs, with a maximum of €100,000 (minimum project size €400,000 for up to 1 year).
Collaborative projects are research projects carried out by a consortium of companies and knowledge institutions. The minimum size of a consortium is one knowledge institution and two companies. This can be two private companies or at least one private company and one public institution. Consortia in which several knowledge disciplines and/or universities and practice-oriented researchers (universities of applied sciences and/or TO2 institutions) work together are strongly encouraged.
Application procedure and assessment
Given the relatively smaller project size and maximum grant amount to be applied for, this call for proposals has a phased and simplified application procedure consisting of two rounds:
A pre-application that gives a good impression of the substantive idea to be developed in an abbreviated project proposal. Please use the WORD format for developing a pre-proposal. (This round is closed.)
Selected pre-submitted project ideas will then be invited to elaborate further in a full project proposal in the second phase.
A complete project proposal with content and matching project budget and Partner Agreements. Please use the WORD format of a project proposal and partner agreement and the EXCEL format for the budget. Maximum size of a proposal is 10 A4s for sections B to G.
Evaluated proposals in Round 2 will be ranked and awarded in order of total score until the available budget is fully exhausted.
Evaluated proposals in Round 2 will be ranked and awarded in order of total score until the available budget is fully exhausted.
