First results SAVED project presented at third consortium meeting

At the third consortium meeting of the research project Collaborative Autonomous Transport on Business Parks (SAVED), the first promising research results were shared. SAVED focuses on developing technology and organisational models for Connected Automated Transport (CAT) on business parks.
Technological and logistics innovation hand in hand
Researchers from HAN, TU/e and University of Twente are working together on simulation environments that realistically mimic the logistics process at the XL Business Park in Almelo. These environments make it possible to analyse and optimise local container transport and the deployment of CAT vehicles. The focus is on both technological validation and logistics process integration.
An important part of the project is also exploring shared ownership of vehicles, a model that promotes cooperation between companies in business parks and enables cost savings.
Live demonstration and future vision
During the on-site meeting at VDL Automated Vehicles in Breda, Karel Smits (VDL) presented an integrated vision of the future of automated logistics. The day ended with a live demonstration of the VDL MTT vehicle, allowing participants to experience the technology up close.
Building future-proof logistics together
TKI Dinalog believes in the power of collaboration between science, business and government to enable innovation in logistics. The SAVED project is a great example of this. We look forward to the further development and application of the insights generated by this project.
