How do you get started with Artificial Intelligence in logistics?

How do you get started with Artificial Intelligence in logistics? The initiators of the Community of Practice will take you on an AI expedition.
Kickstart your AI project and start the online course:
Start
Together on an AI expedition
AI is no longer future music; it is already being used in logistics today. Think of predicting deliveries, automatically processing documents or optimising schedules. But how do you start this yourself, as a company in logistics? You will learn exactly that in this e-learning.
This e-learning is based on the approach of the Community of Practice 'AI in logistics' of Sebastian Piest (University of Twente), Bas Groot (Breda University of Applied Sciences), Marcel Wouterse (DeltaGo) and Rutger Thielen (Breda University of Applied Sciences). Together, they help logistics companies go on AI expedition with a concrete and down-to-earth approach. That approach has now been translated into a low-threshold e-learning for anyone wanting to get started with AI.
What will you learn in this course?
In the e-learning, you will follow the steps that will help you successfully set up your first AI project.
You will go through four phases of an AI development process and learn:
What the key AI concepts are based on 10 real-life examples;
How to choose the right process to improve with AI;
How to tackle AI intake with colleagues and partners;
How to use the AI Design Canvas to shape your idea;
How to execute a Proof of Concept;
What it takes to then properly embed your solution in the organisation.
Community of Practice
The AI Expedition is an initiative of Breda University of Applied Sciences, University of Twente and Deltago. Meanwhile, Arnhem Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences and Windesheim University of Applied Sciences have also joined. Within this Community of Practice (CoP), the following question is central: How do you kick-start a data science and/or AI project?
The CoP brings together groups of 5-10 companies active in transport, logistics services and supply chain that want to get more out of their data and go on an AI expedition together to develop an AI application. Each participant will work on their own AI application and together we will work on a toolbox for AI projects.
To get from idea to implementation, we will work in pairs for each company. A duo consists of a logistics professional or manager and IT person with technical knowledge of data analytics and/or data science. This can also be your external IT partner. In pairs, we work in a workshop series on a concrete AI application and implementation within your own organisation. Ideally, we involve a student in this.

Background
In recent years, several projects have been carried out around data science and artificial intelligence in logistics and supply chain.
Sebastian Piest and Marcel Wouterse have conducted experimental and industrial research in the TKI Dinalog projects Industry 4.0 driven Supply Chain Coordination for Small- & Medium-sized Enterprises and Reinforcement Learning Platform for Logistics SMEs.
Sebastian Piest has contributed to the online AI-awareness course for Logistics and Maritime (www.logistiekmaritiem.ai-cursus.nl) for the NL AI Coalition.
