Fellow membership
With Fellow membership, NAE recognises the outstanding achievements in the engineering domain, the high impact of the work and the inspiring leadership of the Fellows where important societal transitions facing the Netherlands and the world are concerned.
Young Engineer Membership
The Young Engineer membership recognises young engineers who completed their studies no more than 10 years ago and who have distinguished themselves as 'cross-thinkers' and active, enthusiastic and visible innovation leaders. Young Engineers have successfully realised highly innovative solutions in their early careers or have made significant contributions to innovation through research or improving the innovation ecosystem.
Appointment Pure
Fellows and Young Engineers are named on the basis of nominations from industry, universities, colleges, research institutes and academic hospitals, among others. Two independent committees consisting of members make a nomination to the
NAE board which reviews the procedure gone through.
