The Dutch AI Coalition (NL AIC), in cooperation with the Top Sector Logistics, is launching the artificial intelligence (AI) awareness course for Logistics and Maritime. In this free online course, students learn at their own pace what AI is, what the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) are and how to get started with it in their own organisation. In just 4 hours, students are introduced to AI applications in the maritime and logistics world through videos, assignments and thought-provoking statements.

With more and more intelligent, and collaborative systems around us, work in logistics and ports is going to look different in the future. AI systems will take over certain tasks from people, but also create new tasks for people. How can smart algorithms help solve logistics puzzles? What will the logistics chains of the future look like? Will we really sail with autonomous ships? You will learn about all these topics in the AI for Logistics and Maritime course. In this course, we explore the opportunities and challenges of AI in the logistics and maritime domain with inspiring practical examples. For example, AI can contribute to the development of a logistics system that is both competitive, sustainable and safe. In this way, AI offers solutions to the logistics and maritime challenges of the future.

AI for Logistics and Maritime
AI for Logistics and Maritime is a free online course that takes professionals from the logistics and maritime domain through the developments of AI within their working practices. In eleven tracks, basic concepts such as algorithms, AI, machine learning and federated learning are explained by experts from the field in inspiring video use cases. In the course, you will learn, among other things, what AI is and what it is not, what AI applications already exist in the logistics and maritime domain, and how to get started with AI yourself. Among other things, the course highlights how algorithms and AI can reduce empty kilometres, what the role of autonomous tools will be and how to measure results of AI as a professional. The course will also teach you more about the future division of labour between AI systems and professionals in work within the logistics and maritime domain. Likewise, critical preconditions for the use and design of AI are discussed. The online course AI for Logistics and Maritime is free and can be completed at your own pace; at the end of the course, students will receive a certificate.

AI for Logistics and Maritime is available through the course website: LogisticsMaritime.AI-course.co.uk

The course will feature many innovation examples from the programmes of TKI Dinalog and the Top Sector Logistics. The course is a joint initiative of the NL AIC working groups Port and Maritime and Transport, Mobility and Logistics to which TKI Dinalog is contributing.
