COMPOSE 3
The world is in the midst of several major changes, such as globalisation, digitisation and the transition to more sustainable transport. The transition to cleaner and more efficient transport networks plays a particularly important role in the logistics sector. However, this change will not happen automatically. The behaviour, habits and preferences of people and companies determine how quickly and successfully these transitions take place. It is therefore crucial to better understand what motivates logistics decision-makers, what drivers and barriers exist, and how negative attitudes can be converted into action.
The Compose 3.0 project investigates the behaviour of people within the logistics sector using panel experiments and insights from social psychology and game theory. It examines how cooperation between companies can be improved and how the sector as a whole can be steered towards innovation and sustainability. By analysing the behaviour and motivations of decision-makers, effective strategies can be developed to accelerate sustainable change. In addition, knowledge and experience from previous projects are used to create practical solutions that companies can actually apply.
The COMPOSE 3 project provides valuable insights into how behavioural factors influence the logistics transition. This gives companies a better understanding of topics such as change management, strengthening sustainability roles within organisations and dealing with risks. It also helps to better understand responsibilities throughout the chain, for example with regard to reducing emissions. The results support logistics companies in making informed choices and stimulating the cooperation needed for sustainable progress. The developed knowledge is shared through training and communication, so a broad group of companies in the Netherlands and Europe can benefit.
