The goal of this project is to design the foundations for Construction Logistics Control Towers (CLCTs) in construction logistics. CLCTs promise to provide large benefits (20% in kilometers and approximately 15% in GHG emissions) by significant improvements in stakeholder cooperation and information exchange, but are as yet missing in the construction sector. The research project investigates the functional requirements for CLCTs from all involved stakeholders and the available data sources and develops a conceptual and functional design for CLCTs. In the project the state-of-the-art technologies and standards relevant to construction and logistics are examined and used as the basis for the design. The research will focus on two types of CLCTs, in particular:
1) CLCT for individual project based supply chains;
2) CLCT for area-oriented traffic flows.
