The aim of this project is to strengthen the management of information flows of seaport forwarders. This also improves the management of the security of these information flows, for example by making good agreements about the accessibility of information flows. In concrete terms, five points for improvement have been identified to achieve this project objective:
1. Integrally improve one-on-one data communication connections
2. Digital exchange of sea freight rates
3. Improve payment process forwarder - shipping company
4. Improve information exchange demurrage and detention
5. Develop planning tool for modality choice
The project participants want to develop digital applications for the above-mentioned points for improvement that can be implemented across the sector. In short, the strategy for this project is to develop the technical standards for applications, map out management options and draw up an action plan for the sector-wide rollout of an application. After this, it is up to the market to actually implement these applications. This is outside the scope of this project.
